Mi <br />JULY 20, 1942 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Publis Works was held on Monday, July 20, 1942, <br />at 9:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. Co. <br />.15 <br />Ohio Oil Co. <br />10.20 <br />it <br />12.03 <br />it <br />5.10 <br />It <br />3.85 <br />tt <br />5.80 <br />It <br />6.00 <br />" <br />21.75 <br />It <br />6.94 <br />tt <br />7.98 <br />Ohio Oil Co. <br />5.80 <br />" <br />5.10 <br />5.10 <br />STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Zmudzinski commissioner presented $6.00 to the Board, which money <br />was received for the use of the grader. <br />A letter was received from the New York Central Railway Co. stating that temporary <br />repairs had been made to their viaduct on Portage Avenue and further repairs will be <br />made in the near future. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: <br />VACATION RESOLUTION #2517 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BENDr INDIANA: That, <br />it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />COURT ADJACENT TO W-T 382 FORDtS SUBDIVISION OF PART OF 2D PLAT OF RIVERDALE. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such vacation. <br />Lot 382 Ford's Subdivision and lot #102 2d plat of Riverdale Addition. <br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 24th day of July and the 31st <br />day of July, 1942 in the South Bend Tribune and the weekly Mirror. <br />This Board, at its office, in the City Hall, on the loth day of August, 1942, at <br />10:00 A. M., will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or <br />affected by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this 20th day of July, 1942. <br />CLYDE E. DRICGS <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />A petition was received asking that the alley on Dorothy Street from Glen Street to <br />Prairie Avenue be opened by grading, also the alley between Dorothy and Gertrude Street. <br />This petition was turned over to the Engineering Department for investigation and report. <br />Contractor's bonds were received for the following: <br />Earl Milliken H. G. Christman Co. <br />Michael Tomaszewski Edward Burton <br />these bonds were approved and ordered filed. <br />ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: The Board accepted the recommendation of Mr. Qualls to install a <br />street light on Irvington Avenue, between Leer Street and Marine Street, and instructed <br />him to order the light installed. <br />TRAFFIC C0181ISSION: The Board instructed Mr. Miller, on his recommendation, to prohibit <br />parking one block on the south side of Bertrand Street, Kenwood Street and Linden Avenue, <br />from Bendix Drive to Kaley Street. <br />There <br />10:30 A.
