MEETING -- DECEMBER 1, 1941 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, December 1, 1941) <br />at 9:00 A. I14. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. Tony Zmudzinski, Commissioner was present and matters pertain- <br />ing to his department were discussed. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARITMENT: The Board approved the plans for the grade for Sylvan Glen, I� <br />as established by the Engineering De_,artment, as per drawings submitted by them. it • <br />This being the date set, hearing was held an the assessment roll showing the award ) <br />of damaes and the assessment of benefits in the matter of vacation of the alley West j <br />of Franklin Street, from Indiana Avenue to the alley North of Indiana Avenue, same <br />being Vacation Resolution #2bO9. <br />In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written re- <br />monstrances were filed,. the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of <br />notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the <br />several lots and parcels of land have been benefitted and damaged in;,the amounts shown <br />on said roll. The Board therefore, decides to take final action on s&1d assessment <br />roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modi.fica- 1 • <br />tion and the proceedings closed and the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of <br />benefit assessments from the various property omers so benefitted, and all proceedingsi <br />had with reference to said alley vacation are hereby sustained. ! <br />The Board approved the plans submitted by the Grand Trunk ,Jestern Railroad Co., <br />for a 17 foot driveway on their property on St. Francis Street. <br />The Board approved the plans submitted for "Jm. Sheehan, for a driveway to the <br />parking lot on N. Michigan Street, north of La Salle Ave., this driveway is to be 29 <br />wl e. i <br />The Board approved the plans submitted by Andrew A. Toth, Architect, for remodel- <br />• <br />ing the -Indiana Theatre Building, by adding a facing of structural glass. I� <br />! <br />Excavation bonds were received for Adolph H. Stuhmer and LaVerne Witter and Ruth <br />Schoon Witter, d/b as Northern Indiana Construction Co. These bonds were approved and <br />ordered filed. <br />ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: A petition was received asking for a street light at the inter- <br />section of Medora St., and Elwood Ave. This petition was turned over to Mr. Qualls, <br />Superintendent, for investigation and report. <br />it • i <br />; <br />
