33 <br />MEETING -- OCTOBER 14, 1941 <br />IIENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Board approved the grade as established for Timber Lane, as <br />_ 1per drawings submitted by the Engineering Department. <br />DEDICATION <br />WHEREAS, a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon, is now presented <br />to the Board, to be known as Poplar Subdivision. <br />This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and Safety <br />in `Row #21, Drawer #4, File # , and recorded in Book ,�5 Page ttPtt, in the Recorder's <br />Office of St. Joseph County. <br />INOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of South Bend, <br />�Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public places dedicated to the public use <br />in said plat, are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on behalf of the <br />!lCity of South Bend, Indiana. <br />I' <br />ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: PIIr. Aulm was received and appro <br />The City Engineer was instructed to obtain bids for sidewalk and curb on Maple <br />11 Street from. Western Avenue north to Thomas St., and for surb on Meade Street from the <br />11 alley north of Jefferson St., to the alley south of Jefferson St. <br />I5r. Samuel Crumpacker, Attorney for the Grand Trunk Ry. Co., appeared before the Board <br />stating that he had had correspondence from the General Manager of the Grand Trunk Ry. <br />Co., relative to the opening of 30th and 32nd Streets across their tracks, and that <br />he was submitting to the general manager, additional information. <br />• I <br />�! ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: A petition was received, asking for a street light at the inter- <br />section of City Hall Court and Colfax Avenue. This petition was turned over to ir. <br />I <br />Qualls for investigation and report. <br />II A street light at the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Leer Street was ordered <br />installed upon the recommendation of Mr. Qualls. <br />i Mr. Qualls was requested to submit recommendations for lights on the Jefferson <br />Street HouBing Proje,St_, to the Board. <br />Ii TRAFFIC COTI11MISSICN: Mr. Kappelman, Mr. Kromenson, representatives of the Gold Bond Stor <br />and Mr. Percy Walsh, real for appeared before the Board regarding the loading and un- <br />loading of trucks for th Gold Bond store on Colfax Ave. Mr. Williams, after an <br />investigation, was requested to make a study of the carrying capacity of that part of <br />the bridge, <br />
