This tax rate will <br /> apply for property tax assessments in fiscal 2017 with taxes payable in fiscal 2018. <br /> This bill was originally filed with tax rates left blank. The attached substitute bill inserts <br /> estimated property tax rates. The final property tax rates for each municipality in the State of <br /> Indiana are determined by the Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF) as part of the <br /> "1782" budget review process which, according to the state budget calendar, must be <br /> completed in February, 2018. The actual property tax rates will depend on the 2017/pay 2018 <br /> net assessed valuation of property in South Bend. <br /> First reading on this Bill having taken place on August 28, 2017, this substitute is being <br /> submitted for 2nd reading and public hearing at the council meeting on September 25, 2017, with <br /> 3 d reading and council vote at the council meeting on October 9, 2017. <br /> I will be available to discuss this bill at the appropriate sessions of the Personnel and Finance <br /> Committee and other meetings of the South Bend Common Council. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> ,�3 c6m4�) <br /> Jennifer C.
