ORDINANCE NO. <br /> BILL NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, RE-AFFIRMING ORDINANCE NO. 10472-16 AND FIXING THE ANNUAL <br /> PAY AND MONETARY FRINGE BENEFITS OF SWORN MEMBERS OF THE <br /> SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2018 <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The South Bend Common Council, pursuant to Indiana Code § 36-8-3-3, established the annual compensation <br /> and monetary fringe benefits of the South Bend Common Council following successful labor negotiations with <br /> representatives of South Bend FOP Lodge #36 in 2016. The total wage, monetary fringe benefits and working <br /> conditions package was ratified by voting members of the FOP which resulted in the South Bend Common <br /> Council passing Ordinance No. 10472-16 on October 25, 2016. <br /> Ordinance No. 10472-16 set forth the provisions of a 4-year agreement establishing the annual pay and monetary <br /> fringe benefits for calendar years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and also established maximum annual pay and <br /> monetary fringe benefits for upper level policy making positions in the South Bend Police Department as defined <br /> in Indiana Code § 36-8-1-12. <br /> This ordinance formally re-affirms all provisions of Ordinance No. 10472-16 in its entirety for the 2018 calendar <br /> year. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br /> Indiana, as follows: <br /> SECTION I. The annual pay and monetary fringe benefits established for all sworn members of the South Bend <br /> Police Department, including all upper level policy making positions in the Department, are hereby fixed and re- <br /> affirmed for the 2018 calendar year as per Ordinance No. 19472-16 passed by this Council on October 26, 2016 <br /> which originally established the annual pay and monetary fringe benefits.. A copy of Ordinance No. 10472-16 is <br /> attached hereto, incorporated herein by reference, and reaffirmed in its entirety. <br /> SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, <br /> approval by the Mayor and legal publication. <br /> Member of the Common Council <br /> Attest: <br /> City Clerk <br />
