Martin, Clerk <br />Board of Public Works <br />FROM: Rich Estes, Engineer I <br />SUBJECT: Marriott Hotel Site Development at HOF, Phase 3 <br />Project No. 117-064 <br />DATE: September 5, 2017 <br />On Auqust 22, 2017, the Board of Public Works opened and read bids for the above <br />project. The bidders ranked as follows: <br />Base Bid Parts A, B, C <br />Bidder <br />1. Walsh & Kelly, Inc. <br />$666,902.88* <br />2. HRP Construction Inc. <br />$668,891.35 <br />3. Selge Construction Co., Inc. <br />$716,623.62 <br />4. Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc. <br />$765,567.80 <br />The Division of Engineering has reviewed all of the bids and recommends that the Board <br />award the contract to the lowest responsive 1 responsible bidder, Walsh & Kelly, Inc. in the <br />amount of $666,902.88, subject to approved funding by the Redevelopment Commission. <br />`The base bid part C total provided by Walsh & Kelly, Inc., was incorrectly totaled on <br />their bid submission ($419,211.32). Using the unit price as the governing price, the correct total <br />for the base bid part C portion of their bid is $438,711.32. Attached is a message from Walsh & <br />Kelly, Inc., confirming the correct bid total. The bid total shown in the above table utilizes the <br />correct base bid part C amount. Even with. this correction, Walsh & Kelly, Inc., is the lowest <br />responsivelresponsible bidder. <br />
