George Banner, 123 1/2W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, stated, I've been a real estate broker in St.
Joseph County for thirty (30) years. I think this will be an asset. The City has already redone the
streets and the parking.
Mike Divita, Community Investment with offices on the 14th floor of the County-City Building,
stated, Rezoning to MU, Mixed Use would support the community's desires as expressed in the
Westside-Main Street Plan to create a neighborhood center that is vibrant and walkable. This
would be consistent with the plan and the surrounding properties. There is more than adequate
parking with the recent streetscape improvements there.
With no other members of the public wishing to speak, Committee Chair Davis turned the floor
back to the Committee for further comments or main motions.
Committeemember Voorde made a motion to accept Substitute Bill No. 27-17. This motion was
seconded by Committeemember Broden which carried unanimously by a voice vote of three (3)
ayes. Committeemember Voorde then made a motion to send Substitute Bill No. 27-17 to the full
Council with a favorable recommendation. This motion was seconded by Committeemember
Broden which carried unanimously by a voice vote of three (3) ayes.
With no further business, Committee Chair Davis adjourned the Zoning and Annexation
Committee meeting at 4:13 p.m.
ec ly Submitted,
Ii er a i C 1 e Chair
3
