Klosinski, P.E., Assistant City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Project No. 117-026 WWTP Headworks Influent Gates Improvements <br />Professional Services Agreement <br />DATE: August 1, 2017 <br />The Division of Utilities recommends the Board of Public Works approval of a Professional <br />Services Agreement with Arcadis U.S. for design and construction administration services for <br />Project No. 117-026 WWTP Headworks Influent Gates Improvements. <br />Background <br />The Department of Public Works engaged Donohue & Associates to provide an Influent Gates <br />Study earlier this year as a means to better understand flow control and our ability to service existing <br />flow meter equipment at the influent gates of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and control incoming <br />flow to the facility. <br />The resulting study recommended three to four gates inside the Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />with two gates at Junction Chamber No. 1 and one to two gates at Junction Chamber No. 2. <br />Controlling flow at the Wastewater Treatment Plant is one of the most important components to <br />exceptional and efficient treatment. <br />Scope of Services <br />The purpose of this Professional Services Agreement with Arcadis U.S. is to provide design <br />services for electrically actuated cast iron influent gates, electrical design, construction sequencing <br />and bypass pumping plan for between 50 MGD to 77 MGD. Arcadis will also provide Bidding <br />Services and Construction Administration Services during the project. <br />The total cost for the Professional Services is $105,720.00 (not to exceed). Refer to the <br />Professional Services Agreement for details on the scope of services and deliverables. <br />The Division of Utilities will appropriate sufficient funds from Utilities, Wastewater, Engineering, <br />Account (641-0630-793-31-02. <br />For questions regarding the subject agenda request and recommendations, contact Al Greek <br />(Ext. 4210) or Jacob M.
