water tanks shall share no common walls with the debris <br />tanks to prevent contusion. <br />All water cells shall be positioned at or below the frame <br />of the unit thus providing the best possible and lowest <br />available center of gravity. The water cells shall not <br />raise with the debris body when dumping. <br />The water tank shall come equipped with an anti -syphon <br />device and 25' of hydrant fill hose and fittings. A water <br />level sight gauge shall also be provided. <br />The water tank shall come supplied with a "Y" pattern <br />stainless steel strainer to filter the water before it enters <br />the tank. <br />The water tank shall carry a 10-year warranty against <br />coiTosion or cracking. <br />Vacuum <br />System shall be a positive displacement rotary lobe type <br />YES NO <br />System: <br />vacuum pump. Blower to be American made roots type <br />model 824RCS-18 HG or equal. Blower to be capable of <br />4500 CFM @ 18 inches of mercury. include blower <br />manufacturer's performance chart and certification. <br />System to include vacuum relief valves for protection. <br />Blower to be protected by a centrifugal separator capable <br />of separating 50 microns. A stainless steel micro strainer <br />shall be installed between the centrifugal separator and <br />the blower. A stainless steel ball shut off to prevent <br />liquid debris carry over must be included. <br />Vacuum and water systems to be independently <br />controlled so each can be increased or decreased without <br />affecting the other. Vacuum controls to be located in the <br />cab and at the operators station. The vacuum system to <br />have its own hour meter separate from the chassis hour <br />meter, positive displacement pump to be fully warranted <br />for 2,000 hours. <br />Blower Drive: <br />Chassis driven directly through a continuous duty <br />YES NO <br />transfer case. Any bidder wishing to bid an alternatively <br />driven blower may do so with a detailed explanation of <br />the system and the benefits to be received by the City of <br />South Bend from the use of such a system. All bidders <br />must include detailed diagrams of blower drive <br />system being bid.
