REGULAR MEETING APRIL 24, 2017 <br /> James Mueller, Mayor's Office Chief of Staff, with offices on the 14th Floor of the County-City <br /> Building, South Bend, IN, stated that he is transitioning from his current position to one in the <br /> Department of Community Investment. Mr. Mueller announced that Mayor's Night Out would <br /> take place on the evening of April 25th, 2017 at Ivy Tech College at 5:30 p.m. <br /> Councilmember Jo Broden announced that the Solid Waste Management District Board meetings <br /> occur on the second Monday of the month at 10 a.m. on the 7th Floor of the County-City <br /> Building, in the County Commissioner's conference room. Councilmember Broden provided the <br /> phone numbers for the Solid Waste Management District Board and the South Bend Department <br /> of Public Works. She stated that 311 should be up-to-date on information regarding fee increases <br /> and bill credits, as well. <br /> Councilmember Karen White announced that Councilmembers and citizens will receive <br /> information regarding the upcoming budget meetings, which will be off-site. <br /> PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br /> Jim Bognar, 807 West Washington Street, South Bend, IN, urged the Council and public to <br /> support Give Local St. Joseph County, and local nonprofit organizations. <br /> Jason Banicki-Critchlow, 3822 West Ford Street, South Bend, IN, stated that the City needs to <br /> stop relying on TIF Districts as that takes money away from schools. Mr. Banicki-Critchlow <br /> advocates for a rollback of TIF's and a reallocation of those monies to schools and parks. He <br /> stated that the City can't let its violent crime levels rise while surrounding communities see <br /> theirs fall. He stated that the City needs to be more progressive in its attempts to close the wage <br /> gap. <br /> Samuel Brown, 222 East Navarre Street, South Bend, IN, stated that for TRANSPO Bus Week <br /> he was trying to gain access to information regarding a bus driver. Mr. Brown stated that <br /> Councilmember Davis is a part of the TRANSPO board, and that he has been waiting for a <br /> response back on the matter. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council, Vice President Oliver Davis <br /> adjourned the meeting at 8:14 p.m. <br /> 9 <br />
