r <br /> l <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 0 0 —G 121? <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br /> WHEREAS, the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad is now <br /> and has been an integral and important part of this community, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad has been <br /> most cooperative in civic improvements such as the airport industrial park, and <br /> WHEREAS, the services of the Chicago South Shore and South Bend <br /> Railroad to the City of South Bend are most important indeed, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has been informed of negotiations between the <br /> Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad and the Chesapeake and Ohio <br /> Railway for a merger, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council is of the considered opinion that such merger <br /> would be most beneficial to the City of South Bend; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That this Council does hereby <br /> publicly express its opinion that such merger is in the best possible interests <br /> and does hereby request the Interstate Commerce Commission to take favorable <br /> and prompt action on Finance Docket No. 23566, which is the application of the <br /> Chesapeake and Ohio Railway to control the Chicago South Shore and South Bend <br /> Railroad. <br /> I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed this 14th <br /> day of June , 1965, by the City Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br /> and that the above is a true and correct copy of said resolution. <br /> Dated this 15th day of June 1965. <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF SOUTH BEND <br /> ATTEST: B3 <br /> FILED IN CLE X'a OFFICE <br /> KATHRYN L.
