Adoption of existing Master Plan and Ordinances of the City of South Bend

Page 2 WHEREAS, St. Joseph County, Indiana acting by and through its Board of County Commissioners did on the 5th Day of October 1964 adopt an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN AREA PLANNING DEPARTMENT IN THE COUNTY OF ST. JOSEPH, INDIANA UNDER AUTHORITY OF CHAPTER 138, ACTS OF 1957, INDIANA GENERAL ASSEMBLY" which ordinance established an Area Planning Depart- ment in said county, and, WHEREAS, upon the establishment of said Area Plan Commission of St. Joseph County all planning and zoning functions of the county and of participating cities and towns are to be exercised exclusively by the Area Planning Department except as provided in Section 77, Chapter 138, Acts of 1957 of the Indiana General Assembly, as amended, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Area Plan Commission of St . Joseph County, hereby adopts the Master ( Comprehensive) Plan of South Bend, Indiana consisting of maps , charts , and descriptive reports including: (a) The Major Thoroughfares Plan. (b) A Long Range Plan for Recreation Areas . (c) Land Use Analysis (d) Report on Relief and Extension of Sewer Facilities . (e) A Long Range Plan for the Future Use of Land. And the Subdivision Ordinance of said City being Ordinance No. 4563-63 and the Zoning Ordinance of said City being Ordinance No. 3702 , as amended, and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said Master Plan and Subdivision and Zoning Ordinances be recommended to the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana for adoption as a part of the comprehensive plan and supporting ordinances of St. Joseph County, Indiana and the Secretary of the Area Plan Commission is hereby directed to certify a copy of this resolution to the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana at their next meeting for consideration and adoption.
