Presented by me to the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana October 26, 19 65 City Clerk Approved and signed by me 19 Mayor RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: ADOPTION OF EXISTING MASTER PLAN AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA RESOLUTION WHEREAS, there is now in force in the City of South Bend, Indiana an ordinance known as the Master ( Comprehensive) Plan of South Bend, Indiana consisting of maps , charts , and descriptive reports as follows : 1. The Major Thoroughfares Plan. 2 . A Long Range Plan for Recreation Areas . 3. Land Use Analysis 4. Report on Relief and Extension of Sewer Facilities . 5. A Long Range Plan for the Future Use of Land, and, WHEREAS, there is now in force in the City of South Bend Indiana a Zoning Ordinance , commonly known as Ordinance No. 3702 , as amended, and, WHEREAS , there is now in force in the City of South Bend, Indiana a Subdivision Ordinance , commonly known as Ordinance No. 4563-63 , and, WHEREAS, on the 28th Day of September 1964 St. Joseph County , Indiana acting by and through its Board of County Commissioners duly passed an ordinance named and styled as follows : "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE PROVISIONS OF THE AREA PLANNING ACT, CHAPTER 138, ACTS OF 1957, INDIANA GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AS AMENDED" which said ordinance adopted the provisions of the Area Planning Act of Indiana for the County of St. Joseph, Indiana, and, WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana being a city within the geographical boundaries of the County of St. Joseph, State of Indiana did on the 28th Day of September 1964 duly adopt Ordinance No. 4691-64 entitled "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE PROVISIONS OF THE AREA PLANNING ACT, CHAPTER 138, ACTS OF 1957, INDIANA GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AS AMENDED" which said ordinance adopted the provisions of the Area Planning Act of Indiana for the City of South Bend, Indiana, and, Ist&2nd READING 9-ate S-- COAtwHTTEE OF THE WHOLE IN CLERK'S OFFICE PUBLIC HEMIN6 3rd READING S E P 22 1965 NOT APPROVED KATHRYN L. Joseph County, Indiana acting by and through its Board of County Commissioners did on the 5th Day of October 1964 adopt an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN AREA PLANNING DEPARTMENT IN THE COUNTY OF ST. JOSEPH, INDIANA UNDER AUTHORITY OF CHAPTER 138, ACTS OF 1957, INDIANA GENERAL ASSEMBLY" which ordinance established an Area Planning Depart- ment in said county , and, WHEREAS, upon the establishment of said Area Plan Commission of St. Joseph County all planning and zoning functions of the county and of participating cities and towns are to be exercised exclusively by the Area Planning Department except as provided in Section 77, Chapter 138, Acts of 1957 of the Indiana General Assembly, as amended, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana hereby authorizes , effective October 15 , 1965 , the adoption, by the Area Plan Commission of the Master ( Comprehensive) Plan of South Bend, Indiana consisting of maps , charts , and descriptive reports including: (a) The Major Thoroughfares Plan. (b) A Long Range Plan for Recreation Areas. ( c) Land Use Analysis (d) Report on Relief and Extension of Sewer Facilities . (e) A Long Range Plan for the Future Use of Land. And the Subdivision Ordinance of said City being Ordinance No. 4563-63 and the Zoning Ordinance of said City being Ordinance No. 3702 , as amended, and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said Master Plan and Subdivision and Zoning Ordinance are adopted effective October 15 , 1965 as a part of the comprehensive plan and supporting ordinances of St . Joseph County , Indiana and the Clerk of the Common Council is hereby directed to certify a copy of this resolution to the Area Plan Commission of St. Joseph County , Indiana.
