s ' <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> WHEREAS, WALTER G. GLASS, was at all times cognizant of the many <br /> problems facing the City of South -Bend; and devoting his efforts to the <br /> welfare of the City far beyond the ordinary call of duty; and <br /> WHEREAS, he served the City as a Councilman of the Third District <br /> since 1947, until his illness and death, November 5, 1965, and <br /> WHEREAS, in carrying out his duties and responsibilities as <br /> Councilman, and <br /> WHEREAS, we admired him for his sound judgement, clarity of <br /> expression, loved him for his fairness and generousity, and esteemed him <br /> for his great courage, his high sense of honor, and his constant devotion <br /> to the interests of South Bend, and <br /> WHEREAS, in his passing, the members of this Governing Body have <br /> lost a staunch friend and a wise counsellor. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND: <br /> THAT they herewith record for the City the highest respect and esteem <br /> in which WALTER G. GLASS, was held in his official and unofficial capacities ; <br /> and as a true, loyal and devoted citizen of the City; and do record the most <br /> sincere appreciation of the City for his devotion and assistance to its <br /> welfare; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the utmost sympathy be extended to his <br /> wife, ELLEN H. GLASS, and daughter, MISS PHYLLIS GLASS, in their great loss; <br /> and that this resolution be spread in full upon the minutes of this meeting <br /> and a copy, of this resolution delivered to his wife and daughter in token <br /> of our sympathy. <br /> DATED this th day of, November, 19 5. <br /> -/ZJ <br /> i <br /> } <br />
