SLOUGH <br /> CITY CLERK, SOUTH BEND, IND. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 160-67 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF <br /> APPLICATION WITH THE STATE OF INDIANA <br /> FOR A GRANT UNDER CHAPTER 298, ACTS <br /> OF THE 1967 INDIANA GENERAL ASSEMBLY. <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 298, Acts of the 1967 Indiana General <br /> Assembly and the Federal :dater Pollution Control Act provide <br /> financial aid for the construction of sewage treatment works ; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, South Bend, Indiana, herein called the <br /> Municipality, has plans for a municipal water pollution control <br /> project generally described as improvements to the existing <br /> waste water treatment plant including: chlorination facilities , <br /> final clarifiers, degritting and aeration units and sludge <br /> lagoons , which plans have been prepared or will be completed <br /> by July 31 , 1967 , and the Municipality intends to proceed with <br /> the construction of such works ; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br /> 1 . That the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be <br /> authorized to make application for a State grant and provide the <br /> Stream Pollution Control Board such information, data, and <br /> documents pertaining to the application for a grant as may be <br /> required, and otherwise act as the authorized representative of <br /> the Municipality in connection with said application. <br /> 2 . That the Municipality agrees that if a Federal grant <br /> and State assistance for the Project are provided pursuant to <br /> Section 8 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as <br /> amended (33 U. S.C . 446 et seq. ) , and Chapter 298, Acts of 1967 <br /> Indiana General Assembly, the City of South Bend, Indiana, will <br /> pay the remaining costs of the approved construction. <br /> 3. That all statements , data, and supporting documents <br /> made or submitted by the Municipality in connection with any <br /> application for Federal assistance for the proposed construction <br /> are to be deemed a part of the application for State assistance. <br /> 4 . That the Municipality agrees to comply with the require <br /> ments of the Stream Pollution Control Board. <br /> 5 .
