Davis, Jr., Ann Puzzello, Timothy Rouse, <br />Schey, President <br />ouncilmember's Present: David Varner, Derek Dieter <br />Present: Martha Lewis; Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Rita Kopala, Gregg <br />~, Don Pinkert, Jim Frick, Chief Boykins, Aladean DeRose, Don Inks <br />Bill No. 84-09 -Appropriation SBPF <br />rson Karen White opened the meeting acknowledging all committee membf <br />sent excepting one citizen member. Chairperson White then recognized D. <br />of the South Bend Police Department (SBPD) to make the presentation. Dc <br />ie appropriation request was in the amount of 76 thousand dollars to be uses <br />;hase of three new Dodge Charger Police cars. The money had accumulates <br />:e settlements paid by companies whose clients were at fault in police equip <br />ts. The state bid price was $20,300 each or $60,900. The balance would be <br />:he cars with cages, light bars, and other safety equipment. Councilmember <br />~ asked about the disposition of the old vehicles. Pinkert said they would bf <br />e to the VIP's (Volunteers in Police Work) Councilmember Dieter declares <br />ire statement on file precluding any conflict in voting on the bill. <br />.member Rouse moved the bill be sent to Council favorably.
