Described the kinds of relocation services being provided by the community to persons and businesses being <br /> displaced, (e.g.inspection of housing available for relocation, interviewing and counseling of persons being <br /> displaced, system for handling relocation payments, establishment of housing and other referral services), <br /> and give the amount of funds available to provide the services. i <br /> ** In carrying out city-wide relocation activities, the Department of Redevelopment <br /> applies the same policies and procedures that have effectively been used in re- <br /> locating individuals, familes and businesses displaced by Federally-assisted <br /> urban renewal projects. <br /> " The City Building Department inspects and verifies that each housing unit con- <br /> sidered for relocation purposes is standard and meet the needs of the displacee. s <br /> Housing referrals are the responsibility of the city-wide relocation staff and <br /> works in cooperation with public and private housing resource agencies. Special <br /> emphasis is given to the full range of subsidized housing. Displaced persons have <br /> top priority for public and rent supplement housing. Displacees are provided a full <br /> range of social and health services which are carried out in cooperation with es- <br /> tablished public agencies. Interviewing and counselling of persons being displaced <br /> are handled by an experienced relocation officer who works with each and every dis- - <br /> placee until satisfactorily rehoused.
