RESOLUTION NO. ?79-71 <br /> • J <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA ON THE PURCHASE OF CAST IRON OR DUCTILE <br /> PIPE AND MECHANICAL JOINT GATE VALVES BY WATER WORKS <br /> OF CITY OF SOUTH BEND. <br /> WHEREAS, the Water Works of the City of South Bend has <br /> submitted to the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana <br /> "An Ordinance approving a contract between the Water Works of South <br /> Bend, Indiana and Clow Corporation, Bensenville, Illinois, for the <br /> purchase of: I. Cast Iron or Ductile pipe and fittings; II. Mechani- <br /> cal Joint Gate Valves, in the amount of $618, 063 .13" ; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Common Council of City of South Bend, Indiana <br /> has rejected the above ordinance believing it not to be in the best <br /> interests of the City of South Bend, Indiana to enter into a contract <br /> for a three (3) year period as outlined in the above described <br /> ordinance, such rejection being made by the Common Council of said <br /> City at its regularly scheduled meeting of July 26, 1971. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br /> 1. That it is of the opinion that the Water Works of the <br /> City of South Bend, Indiana should enter into a contract with the <br /> Clow Corporation, Bensenville, Illinois for the purchase of I. Cast <br /> Iron or Ductile pipe and fittings,and II. Mechanical Joint Gate <br /> Valves for a two (2) year period in accordance with the indications <br /> and prices outlined in Section I of the defeated ordinance indicated <br /> as purchase periods : "May 31, 1971 to May 31, 1972" for a "total <br /> amount of $201, 100.50" and "May 31, 1972 to May 31, 1973" for a <br /> "Total amount of $202, 167.93" . <br /> 2.
