M <br /> (3) Take such other official action as may be reason- <br /> ably necessary to carry out the objectives of the program. <br /> Such actions will include, but not be limited to: <br /> (a) Assisting the Federal Insurance Administrator, <br /> at his request, in delineating the limits of the flood <br /> plains (s) having special flood hazards on available local <br /> maps of sufficient scale to identify the location of the <br /> building sites. <br /> (b) After flood insurance is made available, fur- <br /> nishing representatives of the National Flood Insurers <br /> Associations (also appropriate Federal agencies, upon request) <br /> and the Department of Natural Resources of the State of <br /> Indiana, information concerning new or substantially improved <br /> structures within the areas of special flood hazards. This <br /> information will include floor elevations (Mean Sea Level <br /> Datum, General Adjustment of 1929) and, if there is a base- <br /> ment, the distance between the first floor and the bottom of <br /> the lowest opening where water flowing on the ground may enter. <br /> (c) Cooperating with Federal, State, Local agencies <br /> or others who will undertake to study, survey, map and identify <br /> flood-prone areas as well as cooperating with contiguous areas <br /> or jurisdictions with respect to adjoining and adjacent flood <br /> plains in order to prevent aggravation of the flooding problems. <br /> (d) Providing the name of the individual and the <br /> office that will be responsible for furnishing the first floor <br /> elevation information. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Common Council hereby <br /> appoints the Board of Public Works and Safety with the respon- <br /> sibility, authority and means to implemen the commitments <br /> made herein. <br /> i <br /> Member of the Common Council <br /> 1st & 2nd READING 10-11-71 <br /> COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br /> TUBLIC HEARING 11-8-71 Continue Public Hearing <br /> 3rd READING <br /> NOT APPROVED <br /> REFERRED <br /> PASSED 11-8-71 <br />
