ORDINANCE NO. ~ ~ 4 `~~ 1 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $450,000.00 FROM EMERGENCY SERVICE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND NO. 288 FOR THE PURCHASE OF EMERGENCY DRIVER TRAINING <br />SIMULATORS PURSUANT TO A U.S .DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />The U.S. Department of Homeland Security awarded the City of South Bend Fire Department a <br />grant of $450,000.00 to provide Emergency Driver Training Simulators. The grant will be used <br />to obtain Emergency Driver Training Simulators for the Fire Department. The City of South Bend <br />is required to contribute 20% of the total project cost, or $90,000.00, and the U:S. Department <br />of Homeland Security is contributing the remaining 80% of the cost, or $360,000.00. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, as follows: <br />Section I: The following sum of $450,000.00 be and hereby is appropriated from <br />Emergency Service Capital Improvement Fund No. 288 for the purpose of purchasing Emergency <br />Driver Training Simulators to be used by the South Bend Fire Department pursuant to a U.S. <br />Department Homeland Security grant, of which 80% ($360,000.00) is the federal share and <br />20% ($90,000.00) is the City of South Bend's share. <br />Section 11: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by <br />the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />Member of th ommon Council <br />
