€ TY OF SOUTH BEND
South Bend, Indiana 46601
Jerry J. Miller June,23, 1972
Mayor
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION OF SOUTH BEND
Mr. Howard Goodhew
President
South Bend School Board
635 South Main Street - -
South Bend, Indiana
Dear Mr. Goodhew:
jOur Commission has an application for an industrial revenue bond
issue for Metalstamp, Inc. at Walkerton, Indiana. Mr. Robert W.
Klotz, President and Treasurer, and Mr. Ernest Zeller, Vice
President and Secretary, desire to build a 13, 750 square foot i
all-steel plant building on a fifteen acre tract of land located on a
Indiana Highway ##23 south of town in Greene Township. They will
be equipping the building with several large presses to handle
heavy and high volume stamping work. They will employ an
additional ten to fifteen people to their present thirty, and may
increase that to fifty additional employees within a few years.
The utility needs of the new plant should cause no additional burden
to the County for service. According to Mr. Klotz and Mr. Zeller, i
they will provide their own water and sewage by well and septic
system. They believe that police and fire protection will be
adequately provided by the now existing County authorities.
The amount of application for the industrial revenue bond issue
i
to finance the project is $250, 000. 00. The National Bank and
Trust Company of South Bend have indicated their desire to
purchase these bonds.
3
