I 1 <br /> • REPORT OF CITE' OF SOUTH BEND <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> MAKING CERTAIN ESTIMATES <br /> Pursuant to the Municipal .Economic Development Act of 1965 as <br /> amended, the City of South Bend Economic Development Commission is <br /> required to make certain estimates in regard to the construction of a <br /> building at 3423 South Michigan Street in South Bend, Indiana, the existing <br /> site of the former structure. The owner of this site is J. E. Walz, Inc. <br /> of South Bend, Indiana. The estimates are as follows: <br /> (1) The number of public services or facilities, including <br /> streets, sidewalks, schools, sewers, street lights, fire and police <br /> protection which would be made additionally necessary or desirable <br /> on account of the proposed facilities are none and the expenses <br /> therefore are none. <br /> (2) The total reconstruction cost of the proposed facility, <br /> including all necessary financial costs, will be in the amount of <br /> $300, 000. 00.. <br /> (3) The number of jobs to be created by the proposed recon- <br /> struction will be a retention of their prior 40 employees, and with <br /> additional design, an approximate estimated additional 10 to 15 <br /> employees. The estimated annual payroll will be $250, 000. 00 to <br /> $300, 000. 00. <br /> The Walz operation has been in our community for sixty years. They are <br /> a landmark in merchandising operation and they serve, not only our <br /> community, but adjacent communities.
