RESOLUTION NO . 3 s a- ?3 A RESOLUTION FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION IN ACCOUNT NO . P-722, "MOTOR EQUIPMENT" IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,000 .00 , AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUM FROM ACCOUNT NO . P-724 , "RADIO EQUIPMENT" , BOTH ACCOUNTS BEING IN THE "PROPERTIES" CATEGORY AND BOTH WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget , so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the various functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary conditions ; and WHEREAS, additional funds are needed for Account P-722, "Motor Equipment" , to enable the Police Department to complete the purchase of their 1973 fleet cars under bids which have been received, and for costs for special equipment; to assure the department 's ability to properly perform its functions ; and WHEREAS, a surplus exists in another account where it is not presently needed as a new radio system has been approved under an Indiana Criminal Justice Agency grant . This surplus is shown more specifically as follows , to-wit : $6,000 .00 in Account P-724 , "Radio Equipment" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION I .
