RESOLUTION NO. �3 9 i- '7 3 <br /> A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE LAND ACQUISITION FOR CIVIC <br /> CENTER PROJECT NOT TO EXCEED $164,000.00 <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 5503-73 passed April 9, 1973 ap- <br /> propriated $500,000.00 for various Civic Center expenses and estab- <br /> lished a Budget Line Item of $164,000.00 for Land Acquisition by <br /> the Civic Center Authority; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Department has been acquiring <br /> the land for the Civic Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of South Bend has acquired title to <br /> approximately 6.72 acres for the Civic Center having purchased <br /> 246,700 square feet from the Redevelopment Department on October <br /> 27, 1972; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Department has approximate- <br /> ly 106,529 square feet (2.45 acres) of land for sale for the Civic <br /> Center Project at One and one-half ($1.50) Dollars per square foot <br /> the exact number of square feet to be determined by survey. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council <br /> of the City of South Bend: <br /> SECTION I. The purchase of remaining parcel of land <br /> for the Civic-Center Project approximately 106,529 square feet <br /> (2.45 acres) of land at a price of One and one-half ($1.50) Dollars <br /> per square foot, the exact number of square feet to be determined <br /> by survey, for a total purchase of not to exceed $164,000.00 is <br /> hereby approved. <br /> SECTION II.
