WHEREAS, there has been prepared and referred to the Common <br /> Council of the Locality (hereinafter called the "Governing Body") for <br /> review and approval of an Urban Renewal Plan for the Project area, <br /> dated November 15, 1967, and consisting of 41 pages, supported by the <br /> Final Project Report material, data and recommendations, which material, <br /> data and recommendations are not a part of the Urban Renewal Plan. <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary that the Governing Body take appropriate <br /> official action respecting said Urban Renewal Plan for the Project, in <br /> conformity with the contracts for financial assistance between the Local <br /> Public Agency and the United States of America, acting by and through the <br /> Department of Housing and Urban Development Administrator; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Governing Body is cognizant of the conditions that <br /> are imposed in the undertaking and carrying out of urban renewal projects <br /> with Federal Financial Assistance under Title I, including those prevent- <br /> ing discrimination because of race, color, creed or national origin; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Governing Body has heretofore duly reviewed, con- <br /> sidered and approved the aforementioned Urban Renewal Plan for the Pro- <br /> ject by its Resolution No. 193-68 dated and passed the 10th day of <br /> September, 1968; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Governing Body does hereby accept and approve its <br /> findings recited in the aforementioned Resolution; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City <br /> of South Bend that additional financial assistance under the provisions <br /> of Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, is necessary to enable <br /> the land in the Project area to be renewed in accordance with the Urban <br /> Renewal Plan for the Project area and, accordingly, the filing by the <br /> Local Public Agency of a Hardship Amendatory Loan and Grant Application <br /> in the amount of $25, 539 , 038 . 00 <br /> for Project Number Indiana R-66 under said Title I is hereby approved. <br /> SUBMITTED for consideration this / 6 ty- day of 1974. <br /> 5 <br /> BY: <br /> Cou} Gilman <br /> Adopted by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, <br /> Indiana, this day of , 1974. <br /> Presiding Officer <br /> ATTEST: <br /> City Clerk <br /> PRESENTED 4-i - a a <br /> FILED IN CLERK'S OFFICE <br /> NOT APPROVED <br /> ADOPTED APR 16 1974 <br /> Irene Gammon <br /> CITY CLERK, SOUTH BEND, IND. <br />
