RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND SUPPORTING AND APPROVING THE CONCEPT OF <br /> REVENUE SHARING. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of South Bend desires to continue <br /> to participate in the Federal Revenue Sharing Act under Title I <br /> of the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972 . <br /> WHEREAS, the act contemplates that the local units <br /> of government are to use said funds for public safety, enviorn- <br /> mental protection, public transportation, health, recreation, <br /> libraries, social services for the poor or the aged, and financial <br /> administration. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of <br /> the City of South Bend that: <br /> SECTION I. <br /> The city of South Bend will continue to participate in <br /> general revenue sharing. <br /> SECTION II. <br /> The Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, Jerry J. <br /> Miller, is hereby authorized to do all things necessary in order to <br /> comply with Title I of the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act <br /> of 1972 . <br /> SECTION III. <br /> The Common Council of the City of South Bend fully <br /> supports the Revenue Sharing Act and will do all tH- ngs necessary in <br /> order to carry out the purposes of the revenue sharing act. <br />
