and St. Vincent DePaul. Other activities include a new student "Coffee Shop" and a tri- campus student <br />"soiree ". <br />Capitan Bob Hammer from the South Bend Police Department addressed their continuing effort to <br />provide students both on and off campus with common sense safety tips. He went on to explain the <br />Police Departments new regional policing system which is hoped will decrease-crime off campus. <br />Santiago Garcia and Brett Belak both addresses their contractual relationship with the City. Basically <br />through better data collection relative to 311 and 911 calls trouble spots can be addressed. This is part <br />of the city's drive to data - driven decision making. <br />Kenny Kent representing Kramer Properties, along with Dean Chandler from the County Police both <br />spoke to the benefits of crime prevention starting with education. <br />Dan Allen, the Assistant Director of Off - Campus Housing outlined Notre Dame's efforts to work with the <br />County and City to educate students about their responsibility to the City to become "good neighbors ". <br />Matt Costello an East Washington Street resident complained about a couple of troublesome student <br />rental homes. This prompted supportive comments along with procedural suggestions when a nuisance <br />occurs and may persist. <br />Dr. Fred Ferlic addressed the need for strong enforcement to nip nuisance properties in the bud. Again, <br />the emphasis was on educating both student renters and landlords as to their responsibilities to act as <br />good neighbors. <br />Gavin announced a next meeting to be Tuesday, October 71h at 3:30 likely to be hosted by Holy Cross <br />College. <br />He adjourned the meeting at 4:35. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Gavin Ferlic, Chairperson <br />Community Campus Advisory Coalition <br />
