Director, Public Works Members of the Common Council County /City Building South Bend, IN 46601 RE: Morris Civic Auditorium Gentlemen: Reply To: Department of Public Works December 10, 1974 As you may be aware, some loose plaster recently fell from the ceiling over the third balcony at the Morris Civic Auditorium. Because of the uncertainty regarding a repeat of this failure, and in consideration of scheduled use of the Auditorium, Gibson & Associates, the firm doing the repair work on the Museum, was engaged to check the ceiling through- out the Auditorium and to remove any additional plaster that appeared to pose an immediate danger. This investigation and emergency removal has been completed. While some additional removal is required for which payment will be made from monies budgeted for next year, it is recommended that certain unobligated 1974 funds be transferred as requested in the ordinance under consideration to enable the present obligation to Gibson & Associ- ates to be made from the 1974 budget.
