Animal Control Commission Minutes <br />Commission Members Present: <br />Citizen Members Present: <br />Council Members Present: <br />City Staff Present: <br />Agenda: <br />October 4, 2016 6:38 p.m. <br />Earnest Galos, Emily Sexton, Rebecca Kaiser, Betsy <br />Culp (late) <br />Rosemary <br />None <br />Randy Wilkerson, Code Enforcement; Jeff <br />Chamberlain, SBPD; Todd Howard; Jamie Gray <br />It was discussed that the County is tightening its tethering law to three (3) hour intervals <br />(St. Joe County Enforcement) as well as changing zoning laws. <br />It was announced that the South Bend Animal Care and Control should have a new <br />manager in the next week. <br />The commission dicussed adding internal temperature readings to the ordinance. They <br />referred to Councilmembers Dr. David Varner, Tim Scott and Randy Kelly regarding the <br />ordinance revisions. <br />The commission requested reports for the number of adoptions, KPI numbers, bites, etc. <br />Stephanie Steele, Legal Department, wants an attorney from the Legal Department to sit in <br />of the commission meetings. <br />Over the past weekend at the Michiana Pet Expo, t- shirts were sold, and about $400 was <br />made.
