Animal Control Commission Minutes June 7, 2016 6:30 p.m. <br />Commission Members Present: Earnest Galos, Emily Sexton, Rebecca Kaiser, Betsy <br />Culp <br />Citizen Members Present: <br />Council Members Present: <br />City Staff Present: <br />Agenda: <br />Rosemary, Matt <br />Tim Scott <br />Todd Howard <br />A suggestion was made to hand out flyers instead of having animals because it really <br />stresses the animals out. <br />It was announced that June 25 ' is the Urban Farm Market. <br />The commission entertained discussion on First Fridays in September and suggestions were <br />made for what the commission would like to do. <br />Betsy Culp inquired about hearings, to which Matt answered there will not be any today. <br />It was announced that every Wednesday the SBACC will provide Parvo vacinations. Ms. <br />Culp inquired about the ten (10) day quarantine. Matt discussed Parvo, the treatment, <br />prevention, issues, and euthanized Parvo cases. It was then asked how many get <br />euthanized, to which Matt answered thirteen (13). <br />Matt then went on to describe the online licensing process, the online perks, tags, and <br />notices. He then went on to describe the Docu -Pet process and how it takes fifty percent <br />(50 %) after SBACC meets normal cost. He also described the lost and found, <br />notifications /updates, the signup for texts, and the partnering with local businesses for <br />discounts for citizens using docu -pet. Rebecca Kaiser asked how much the SBACC makes <br />in licensing. It was stated that the City makes $26,000 and the County makes $17,000. <br />Matt then brought up the hearing notice and his concerns.
