RESOLUTION NO. 50 1- 73- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND SUPPORTING AND APPROVING <br />THE CONCEPT OF REVENUE SHARING. <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend desires to continue <br />to participate in the Federal Revenue Sharing Act under Title I of <br />the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972. <br />WHEREAS, the act contemplates that the local units of <br />government are to use said funds for public safety, environmental <br />protection, public transportation, health, recreation, libraries, <br />social services for the poor or the aged, and financial administration. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of <br />the City of South Bend that: <br />SECTION I. The Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend fully supports the general revenue sharing program. <br />SECTION II. The Common Council desires and requests <br />that the Congress of the United States enact legislation to continue <br />the general revenue sharing program beyond its initial five -year <br />period. <br />SECTION III.
