RESOLUTION NO. 517 -76 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO SUBMIT TO THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT, <br />DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, A PREAPPLICATION FOR FUNDS <br />UNDER THE COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING <br />ACT OF 1973 (CETA). <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of South Bend is the <br />Chief Executive Officer of the City, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend wishes to apply for <br />funds under the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />SECTION I. Hereby authorizes the Mayor of the City of <br />South Bend to submit an application, including all understandings <br />and assurances contained therein, to the United States Government, <br />Department of Labor, for funds under the Comprehensive Employment <br />and Training Act of 1973. <br />SECTION II. The Mayor shall submit to the Common Council <br />a line item budget in ordinance form prior to any expenditures of <br />such grant money received upon approval of this application. <br />SECTION III. <br />The Mayor of the City of South Bend is <br />further directed and authorized to act in connection with such <br />application and to provide such additional information as may be <br />required by the Department of Labor. <br />SECTION IV. This resolution shall be in full force and <br />effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br />Adopted March 22, 1976, as amended <br />
