RESOLUTION N0. 01�1 � -7 6 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, APPROVING THE PLACING OF THE <br />INSCRIPTION "TO SERVE AND TO PROTECT" ON ALL <br />MUNICIPAL POLICE AND FIRE VEHICLES. <br />WHEREAS, the members of the police and fire forces of <br />the City of South Bend render valuable services to the citizens <br />of our community; and, <br />WHEREAS, the policemen and firemen are dedicating them- <br />selves as public servants to protect and serve the needs of our <br />community, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana that: <br />SECTION I. The Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />approves the placing of the inscription "To Serve and To Protect" <br />on all municipal police and fire vehicles. <br />SECTION II. The "To Serve and To Protect" inscription <br />shall serve as a reminder to all citizens of our community of the <br />valuable services being rendered by and for our public servants. <br />SECTION III. The Board of Public Works be requested to <br />supervise the coordination of the inscription placement with the <br />appropriate departments and officials. <br />SECTION IV.
