RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA SUPPORTING THE <br />REENACTMENT OF THE FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING <br />GRANT PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Government is currently considering <br />the reenactment of the Federal Revenue Sharing Grant Program; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Federal Revenue Sharing Grant Funds have been an <br />important and valuable source of financing for many local <br />governmental programs in the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of South <br />Bend to continue to receive Federal Revenue Sharing Grant Funds <br />of an amount which will allow a continuation of local govern- <br />mental services at their present level; and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of South <br />Bend that new burdensome administrative procedures not be made <br />a condition to receipt of Federal Revenue Sharing Grant Funds; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />supports the reenactment of the Federal Revenue Sharing Grant <br />Program at a workable level without unnecessary new administra- <br />tive burdens, <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the <br />City of South Bend: <br />SECTION I. That the Common Council fully supports the re- <br />enactment of the Federal Revenue Sharing Grant Program. <br />SECTION II. That the Common Council fully supports the 3 3/4 <br />year entitlement financing method of funding the Federal Revenue <br />Sharing Grant Program. <br />SECTION III. That the Common Council fully supports elimina- <br />tion of the Fascell Supplemental Formula for determining the <br />amount of local government's share of Federal Revenue Sharing <br />Grant Funds. <br />
