RESOLUTION NO. 563 -77 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A <br />DOWNTOWN URBAN MALL <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend has embarked upon the <br />development and revitalization of the South Bend Central Business <br />District; and <br />WHEREAS, local developers have shown an interest in develop- <br />ing a downtown urban mall within the South Bend Central Business <br />District; and <br />WHEREAS, during the development of a downtown urban mall it <br />may become necessary for the public sector to participate by providing <br />services or facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, such a downtown urban mall would be advantageous to <br />the future growth and development of the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the success of any such project requires total commu- <br />nity participation and support; and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend is <br />interested in promoting development of the Cental Business District, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />SECTION I. That the Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />supports and is in favor of the development of a downtown urban mall <br />within the Central Business District of the City of South Bend. <br />SECTION II.
