RESOLUTION NO. 65-- 2 7 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AUTHORIZING INSPECTORS <br />OF THE CITY'S BUREAU OF HOUSING TO RECEIVE <br />ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION PURSUANT TO A CON- <br />TRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE INSTITUTE <br />FOR URBAN STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE <br />DAME. <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 5830 -75, being section 2- 118(a) -(d) of the <br />Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, provides that no additional com- <br />pensation shall be paid by the City to any City employee without approval <br />of the Common Council; and, <br />WHEREAS, The City of South Bend, through its Community Development <br />Program, proposes to enter into a contract with the Institute for Urban <br />Studies at the University of Notre Dame for a survey of the current con- <br />ditions of homes which have been rehabilitated through the City's several <br />programs of housing rehabilitation; and, <br />WHEREAS, The Institute for Urban Studies proposes to employ, with the <br />funds received from the City through its Community Development Program, <br />qualified inspectors from the City's Bureau of Housing to inspect the <br />condition of rehabilitated homes at the rate of ten dollars ($10.00) per <br />home, on their personal time at their own volition: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana; <br />SECTION I.
