Strycker, Y.S.B. <br />SUBJECT: Title XX Application <br />DATE: March 8, 1978 <br />219/284 -9335 <br />The Youth Service Bureau is seeking Council approval to submit an <br />application to the State of Indiana Department of Public Welfare for funding <br />in the amount of $20,827.00 under Title XX of the Social Security Act of 1936, <br />as amended. This is federal money through the Department of Health, Education <br />and Welfare given to states in block grants for distribution. <br />The Bureau intends to contract to provide five areas of service to <br />recipients of Aid to Families with Dependent Children. We are proposing to <br />contract for the following: <br />The School Service Coordinator Program is operating in ten schools of <br />the South Bend Community School Corporation. The service being contracted for is <br />one -to -one counseling in the school setting. <br />The General Recreation Program is our "Summer Fun Program" in operation <br />at Kennedy, Clay, and Memorial Parks. It is an 8 week program, five days per week <br />for four hours daily.
