Wayne Brownell Executive Director Attached to this letter is a certified copy of Resolution No. 550 adopted by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission on April 7, 1978, and Attachment "A" which changes the land uses in the block of Area C bounded by E. Colfax Avenue, St. Joseph Street, East Washington Street, and the Michigan Street pedestrian mall to permit Hotel -Motel use, which is oriented to and supports the City's cultural center development in Area D. Also, this area will be devoted to a broad range of compatible retail and service uses. Also attached to this letter is a copy of the Area Plan Resolution No. 49 passed by the Area Plan Commission of St. Joseph County, Indiana on April 18, 1978, which resolution approves, ratifies and confirms the Resolution No. 550 adopted by the Redevelopment Commission of South Bend. Also attached is the proposed resolution of the Common Council of the City of South Bend approving the Urban Renewal Plan, together with the proposed amendments thereto and Plan Changes and the feasibility of relocation for the Central Downtown Project, Indiana R -66. These changes are necessary to permit the development of the Block of Area C described above. Your adoption of the proposed resolution will permit the Redevelopment Commission to proceed with the plan change. We urge your favorable action on this resolution. Sincerely, C.
