Iv <br />December 18, 1961 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />December 18, 1961 at 10:00 A.M. CST. All members were present. <br />Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers <br />were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />REPORT FROM TRAFFIC ENGINEER - RE:MCKINLEY LAGOON TRESPASSING <br />Clem Hazinski, in accordance with instructions of the Board to install <br />signs prohibiting trespassing on the McKinley LaGoon submitted a <br />report informing the Board that special signs reading +Keep off - No <br />Swimming - Fishing — Skating - Police Order" were made and installed <br />on Friday, December 15, 1961 at the edge of each of the four easements <br />to this area. <br />The report was examined by the Board and ordered placed on file. <br />PR_O_POSTE MEETING - TRAFFIC ENGINEER, CITY ENGINEER RE: MCKINLEY <br />LAGOON TRESPASSING <br />The Board directed Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer and Ray Andrysiak, <br />City Engineer, to meet with the interested residents in the McKinley <br />Lagoon araa to discuss the situation of skating on the Lagoon. <br />It was further suggested that the cooperation of the residents be <br />sought in solving this problem to the satisfaction of all concerned. <br />It was further suggested that the meeting be called as soon as possible <br />in order to solve the problem of immediate use of the Lagoon during <br />the Christmas vacation. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION <br />Comes now Rev. Bowles at the request of the Sub -Standard Division of the <br />Building Department to show cause why property used as a church at <br />301 S. Kentucky Street has not been brought up to standard. Said <br />property was to have been brought up to standard by this date and <br />time has now expired. <br />Rev. Bowles advised the Board that the building is not now being used. <br />At the request of the Board he promised to have building boarded up and <br />completely torn down by May 19 1962. <br />Case continued until May 1, 1962. <br />A progress report on property owned by William Scott located at 740 <br />N. Frances Street was made. Mr. Grabarz reported that no repair has been. <br />done although two extensions have been granted. <br />Mr. Scott explained that the place has been cleaned up and that now he <br />is working he will be able to continue repair after he has paid his <br />fee to the Life Employment Agency. <br />Mr. Grabarz was directed to check with Life Agency concerning fee and <br />also to check with Mr. dhas. Hahn who has indicated that he will finance <br />Mr. Scott if he has a job. <br />Case continued to May 14, 1962 to allow ample time for repairs. <br />Mr. Grabarz reported that Mr.Sdhsrtley had failed to appear, as ordered., <br />Mr. Schwertly, attorney, represents property located at 321 S. Kentucky <br />Street. <br />Case continued for one week and if nobody appears at meeting, Board will <br />act on this case. <br />A progress report on property located at 1147 N. Johnson Street was made <br />by Bat. Chief Downes and John Grabarz. they report that no repairs have <br />been made. Another report will be made on January 2, 1962. <br />
