Iv December 18, 1961 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, December 18, 1961 at 10:00 A.M. CST. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various suppliers. REPORT FROM TRAFFIC ENGINEER - RE:MCKINLEY LAGOON TRESPASSING Clem Hazinski, in accordance with instructions of the Board to install signs prohibiting trespassing on the McKinley LaGoon submitted a report informing the Board that special signs reading +Keep off - No Swimming - Fishing — Skating - Police Order" were made and installed on Friday, December 15, 1961 at the edge of each of the four easements to this area. The report was examined by the Board and ordered placed on file. PR_O_POSTE MEETING - TRAFFIC ENGINEER, CITY ENGINEER RE: MCKINLEY LAGOON TRESPASSING The Board directed Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer and Ray Andrysiak, City Engineer, to meet with the interested residents in the McKinley Lagoon araa to discuss the situation of skating on the Lagoon. It was further suggested that the cooperation of the residents be sought in solving this problem to the satisfaction of all concerned. It was further suggested that the meeting be called as soon as possible in order to solve the problem of immediate use of the Lagoon during the Christmas vacation. BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION Comes now Rev. Bowles at the request of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department to show cause why property used as a church at 301 S. Kentucky Street has not been brought up to standard. Said property was to have been brought up to standard by this date and time has now expired. Rev. Bowles advised the Board that the building is not now being used. At the request of the Board he promised to have building boarded up and completely torn down by May 19 1962. Case continued until May 1, 1962. A progress report on property owned by William Scott located at 740 N. Frances Street was made. Mr. Grabarz reported that no repair has been. done although two extensions have been granted. Mr. Scott explained that the place has been cleaned up and that now he is working he will be able to continue repair after he has paid his fee to the Life Employment Agency. Mr. Grabarz was directed to check with Life Agency concerning fee and also to check with Mr. dhas. Hahn who has indicated that he will finance Mr. Scott if he has a job. Case continued to May 14, 1962 to allow ample time for repairs. Mr. Grabarz reported that Mr.Sdhsrtley had failed to appear, as ordered., Mr. Schwertly, attorney, represents property located at 321 S. Kentucky Street. Case continued for one week and if nobody appears at meeting, Board will act on this case. A progress report on property located at 1147 N. Johnson Street was made by Bat. Chief Downes and John Grabarz. they report that no repairs have been made. Another report will be made on January 2, 1962.
