December 11, 1961 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />December 1191961 at 10:00 A.M. CST. All members were present. Minutes <br />of the last regular meeting and the special meeting were read and approved. <br />Vouchers were approved and -ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( STREET LIGHTS) <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of the <br />Electrical Department, the following installations were approved: <br />1 4,000 lumen light at Black Drive and Edison Road 4 1 ,000 lumen light at Okkridge Drive and Edison <br />1 4*000 lumen light at 1027 N. College Street. <br />1 41000 lumeh light at the 4400 Block S. Miami Street <br />1 6,000 lumen light at Ireland,Road and Miami Street (S.W. Corner) <br />1 4,000 lumen light at Clayton Drive and Miami Street <br />1 49000 lumen light at Clayton Drive and Echo Drive <br />31 <br />LETTER FROM INDIANsA & MICHIGAN ELECTRIC CO. TO FIRE CHIEF <br />A letter from J. Benson Bally Division Manager of the Indiana & Michigan <br />Electric Company to the Fire Chief was presented to the Board. Mr. <br />,.a Ball congratulated the Fire Department for their assistance in an <br />emergency at the Indiana & Michigan Company's offices on the night of <br />December 1, 1961. <br />The letter was reviewed by the Board and ordered placed on file. <br />SPECIAL POLICE BOND <br />A Special Police Bond for Glen Francis Lowry was approved by the Board and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION <br />An application for the Police Department from Thomas William Peters was <br />accepted and ordered placed on.file. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION <br />An application from Robert Valentine Chrzan for the Fire Department was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />A Street Light Outage Report was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br />A Monthly Report for November, 1961 from the Building Department was <br />accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS) <br />Comes now Rev. Bowles and declares that he was requested to be present <br />at the Board meeting on this date. <br />Inasmuch as Vernon Lane and John Grabarz.are out of the city attending a <br />conference, the hearing was continued until December 18, 1961. <br />rcc: M.AJIMLLY VUNU - NU TRESPASSING SIGNS (MCKINLEY_LAGOON) <br />The Clerk of the Board reported that children are skating on a pond <br />at McKinley which constitutes a hazard. <br />The Board, after hearing the facts, instructed the Traffic Engineer to <br />erect signs at this site. Such signs to read: "No Fishing, No Swimming, <br />No Skating." <br />
