November 27, 1961 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, November <br />279 1961 at 10:00 A.M. CST. All members were present. Minutes of the last <br />regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered <br />paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( SUB -STANDARD DIVISION) HEARINGS <br />Comes now Harold Miller, attorney, representing the owner of property located <br />at 116 N. Walnut Street and requests an extension in order to bring property <br />up to standard. <br />Continuance granted until May 1, 1961. Owner wishes to rent rooms in this <br />dwelling but Board ruled that no roomers will be allowed in the premises <br />until property is brought up to standard. <br />Mr. Grabarz reported that he had contacted Mr. Rightley, owner of property <br />located at 122 E. Paris Street. <br />-`i Mr. Rightley requested a continuance ofthishearing until. December 4,1961. <br />r- i <br />Request granted. <br />PERMISSION TO DEMOLISH <br />Mr. Grabarz requested permission to demolish a-xlwelling,.lgc.ated at.620 <br />Neddo Court and to accept the bid submitted by 0 &"C Wrecking —Company —,...which <br />was the lowest bid and which was as follows: <br />Without Salvage $175.00 <br />With Salvage 200.00 <br />The other bidder was the B & 0 Wrecking Company. <br />Permission granted by the Board to raze structure and award_bid. to O-& C <br />Wrecking Company as requested. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER ( TRAFFIC SIGNS) <br />The following installations were approved by the Board: <br />2 - NO PARKING THIS SIDE signs on east side of 100 N. Kaley to <br />prohibit parking 2 block south of Colfax Avenue <br />Stop signs installed on St. Joseph Street, both sides, at Eckman St. <br />Stop signs installed on Vine Street, both sides, at 35th Street. <br />Stop sign installed on Frances Street, southeast corner, at Miner St. <br />Stop sign installed on Iowa Street, northwest corner, at Ardmore Trail. <br />Stop sign installed on Fassnacht Street, northeast corner, at Johnson, <br />Stop sign installed on Bergan Street, southwest 4orner, at Huey Street, <br />replacing a Yield Right of Way sign. <br />Stop signs installed on Falcon Street, both sides, at Jefferson, <br />replacing Yield Right of Way signs. <br />Stop signs installed on Randolph Street, both sides, at Marine Street. <br />2 - 2 Hr. signs installed at 501-503 E. LaSalle Street. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT (APPLICATION) <br />An application for the Police Department from Jack Lee Coppens was accepted <br />and ordered placed on file. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />A Street Light Outage Report was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( STREET LIGHTS) <br />Kollowing the recommendation of the Electrical Department, the petition of <br />Granville Ziegler, Postmaster and_other_s,_for the installation of 1 - 4000 <br />lumen street light at 1619: S. Franklin Street was approved. <br />
