September 189 1961 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, September <br />189 1961 at 10:00 A.M. DST. Messrs. R: S. Andrysiak and Edwin L. Davies were <br />present. Minutes of the special meeting and the last regular meeting were <br />read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various <br />suppliers. <br />RATIFICATION OF RESOLUTION REs TIME LIMIy PARKING SIGN LOCATIONS <br />The Board of Public Works & Safety ratified a Resolution empowering the <br />City Traffic Engineer to make comprehensive study to ascertain appropriate <br />time limits for permissible parking in all areas not presently controlled__ <br />by parking meter devices. <br />The Resolution was ordered placed on file. <br />APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDERS - RE: FIRE STATION NO. 13 <br />The Board approved the following Change Orders for Fire Station No. 13 as <br />presented by Callix Miller, Architect, and the following additional amounts <br />-are now approved and are to be added to the original contracts as formerly <br />approved by the Board: <br />Harry H. Verkler, Contractor, Inc. $10,369.00 <br />Brehmer Electric Company 900.00 <br />Edward J. White, Inc. 2,400.00 <br />These sums are approved because of the appropriation of additional funds <br />approved for said project in the sum of $15,500.00. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT (SUB -STANDARD DIVISION) HEARINGS <br />Comes now John Grabarz of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Depart- <br />ment and reports that Messrs. Gustala and Sailer, owners of property located <br />at 917 E. Wayne Street had been ordered to appear to show cause why a repair <br />order for the above -mentioned property had not been complied with. Mr. <br />Grabarz reported that this property was open and that vandale are damaging <br />the property. <br />To the instructions of the Board to have property boarded up, the owner, <br />Mr. Gustala, replied that the property had been boarded up but, at the <br />instructions of the insurance company the boards had been removed bedause <br />the insurance company refused to insure property for fire if said property <br />was boarded isp. <br />The owner asked additional time in which to finish repairs for this property. <br />After hearing this case, the Board instructed the owner to show proof of the <br />insurance company concerning the instuctions on boarding up property and <br />this hearing was continued for one week. <br />With reference to property located at 122 E. Paris St., Mr. Grabarz reported <br />that he had made a title search and had no additional information as a result <br />of this; that he had send letter to owner and said letter had been returned <br />"unclaimed" so that, at this time, he has not been able to contact the owner. <br />The Board continued this hearing for two weeks. <br />A progress report concerning the property loeatad at 603 E. Keasey Street <br />shows that there are 30 pepple living at this address and that, up to this <br />time, efforts to have them moved out have failed. Since this is contrary <br />to the Minimum Building Code, the Director of the Sub -Standard Division of <br />the Building Department was directed to have affidavits filed and to report <br />back on progress that has been made. ` <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT (STREET LIGHTS) <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Electrical Department <br />Superintendent, the following installations.were approved: <br />
