July 3, 1961 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safet1w,was held on Monday, July 3, <br />1961 at 10:00 A.M. DST. All members were present. t4 nutes of the last <br />regular meeting weretl ead and<4ppro*ed.; :,Vouchers were approved and.ordered <br />paid to the various suppliers. <br />AWARDING OF OONTRACTS - FIRE STATION NO. 13 <br />In accordance with provisions.of the Special Meeting of the Board of Public <br />Safety, and since the contractors have submitted'\Ietters binding them to <br />their bids for a period of 90 days,.the following contractors were awarded <br />bids, in the following amounts: <br />i <br />Harry H. Verkler, Contractor, Inc. $289145.00 <br />Edward J. White, Inc. 59585.00 <br />Br,ehmer Electric Company 29317.00 <br />Callix Miller, Architect 2�680.00 <br />Total $38s727.00 <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT (PETITION FOR STREET LIGHT) <br />A petition from William J. Starck and others for a street light on Portage <br />and Kessler Place was referred to the Elettrical Department for investigation <br />at:d recommendation. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT (INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHT) <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of the <br />Electrical Department, the Board approved the installation of the following: <br />1 - 4000 lumen street lamp at 610 Crescent Ave. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( REPORT - BAT. CH. DOWNES ) <br />Batallion Chief Downes submitted a report that the order issued by the Board <br />to vacate the premises located at 1008-1010 W. Washington had been carried <br />out and the building had been vacated by June 279 1961. <br />The Board commended Chief Downes and others working on this order for the <br />efficiency in carrying out the directive of the Board. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT (MONTHLY REPORT) <br />A monthly report for the month of June, 1961 from the Building Department <br />was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />A Street Light Outage Report was accepted and ordered placed :on file. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT (SPECIAL POLICE) <br />The application for Special Police and Bond were approved and ordered placed <br />on file, for David Litteral. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT (AUXILIARY SCHOOL PATROL) <br />An application from Betty Jane Donaldson for Police Auxiliary School Patrol <br />was accepted and ordered placed, -on file. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER (REPORT ON TRUCK TRAFFIC 0 VE STREET) <br />As requested by the Board, Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, investigated the <br />matter of truck traffic on 'Olive Street in connection with a complaint from <br />Councilman Muszynski. Mr. Hazinski reported that investigation was made and <br />"Through Trucks Prohibed" signs have been installed. Also, police department <br />traffic division has been notified to enforce these signs. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT (STREET LIGHT PETITION) <br />A petition from Mary Ann Downey and bthers for a street light at 1200 and 1800 <br />Pulaski Street - Calvert and Dubail - was referred to the Electrical Department <br />for investigation and recommendation. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
