`6 <br />January 91 1961 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, January 91 <br />1961 at 10:00 A.M. Mr. Irving Smith was not present. Minutes of the last <br />regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered <br />paid to the various suppliers. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT (RETIREMENTS) <br />The following requests from Police Officers for permission to go on retirement <br />and pension were reviewed by the Board and approved: Officer Arthur A. Langel, <br />effective February 119, 1961; Cpl. Carl L. Shaffer, effective February 6, 1961. <br />APPLICATIONS"FOR=SPECIAL POLICE APPROVED <br />The following applicants were approved as Special Police: James Shields and L.C. <br />Barnes. <br />BONDS (SPECIAL POLICE) <br />The following Official Bonds for special Police were approved by the Board and <br />ordered placed on file: James Shields, John James Leader, John J. Horan, <br />Stanley V. Grayzck, Richard Z. 4y.slo. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION <br />An application for the Pplice Department from "rry Lee Lundstrom was accepted <br />and ordered placed on file. <br />FI_RE DEPARTMENT APPLICATIONS <br />.e_t The following applications for the Fire Department were accepted and ordered <br />*-Z placed on file: Gabriel Joseph Szoke,III.; Darrell Wayne Dunlap, Jr. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT <br />Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of the Electrical <br />Department, the Board approved the installation of the following street <br />lights: <br />3-4000 lumen lights on Hepler in front of Tarkington School <br />1-4000 lumen light at the intersection of Winston and Rose Sts. <br />1-4000 lumen light at the intersection of Winston and Hepler. <br />RE�--REMODELING OF FIRE STATION NO. 2 <br />Callix E. Miller, Architect for the remodeling of Fire Station No. 2 submitted <br />a letter from T. M. Hindman, Exate Examiner with the information that the drawings <br />and specifications for remodeling of Fire Station No. 2 are approved by the <br />State and are in compliance with the statutes governing free and open competition. <br />The letter was examined and ordered placed on file. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT ( SUB STANDARD DIVISION) <br />Comes now John Grabarz of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department <br />and reports that no progress has been made with reference to the property at <br />313 N. Scott Street. The owner has been notified that a hearing would be held <br />this date, but is not present. Case continued until January 16, 1961. <br />The.following hearings were also continued until January 16, 1961: <br />739 Lincolnway East property. <br />740 E. Bronson St. property. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />The Building Department reports for the month of December, 1960 and for the <br />year of 1960 were submitted to the Board, examained, accepted and ordered <br />placed on file. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />Street Light Outage Report was examined and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 10:45 A.M. <br />Chairman <br />Attest: f J.
