November 21, 1960 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />November 21, 1960 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the <br />previous regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT (HEARINGS) <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION (HOUSE MOVES) <br />Comes now Jbhn Grabarz and requests permission to have house moved from <br />110 E. Irvington to 2114 S. William St. Joseph Chodzinski, representing <br />August Sukolich, George J. Nemeth, Mrs. Fedorow and Mrs. A. Mancini appeared <br />to remonstrate against said move. They were assured by the Board that the <br />house would be brought up to standard in accordance with a list of require- <br />ments issued by the Building Department within three months after moving <br />or before occupancy, whichever is sooner. If the condition issued by the <br />Building Department and approved by the Board are not followed, the house <br />will be torn down. The Building Department was directed by the Board to <br />so notify the owner of the above. <br />Mr. Grabarz also requested permission to move house from 1030 E. Donald <br />Street to 921 E. Fairview. Mrs. Tony Mathia and Mrs. Ethel Smith appeared <br />to remonstrate said move and inquire how house would be set on lot. Board <br />assured the remonstrators that the house would be set on the lot in <br />accordance with the code requirements of said lot. A list of requirements <br />D set up by the Sub -standard Division of the Building Department were read <br />by the Board and approved. It was the decision of the Board that the house <br />move be permitted, subject to the terms of the requirements and, further <br />that said house would be brought up to standard within three months or <br />before occupancy, whichever is first. <br />The Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department was directed that, in <br />the future, no work was to be done on the lots of prospective house moves, <br />such as placing equipment on lot, digging basements, etc. until moving <br />permit had been issued. <br />With reference to the property at 1618-1620 Dunham Street owned by Mr. <br />Wrieszien, a hearing on this case was held at which time Mr. Wrieszien <br />was present to show cause why he had not brought property up to standard. <br />The case was continued for one week. <br />With referdnce to the property at 2509 Longley, owned by Mr. Mitchell, a <br />hearing was held at which time Mr. Mitchell was asked to show cause why <br />he had not brought property up to standard by November 14, 1960 as directed. <br />Mr. Mitchell advised that it would take three months to bring property up <br />to standard. Case continued until February 21, 1961 or the Monday closest. <br />to that date. <br />With reference to property located at 413 Arthur Str. et,Mr. Grabarz requdsted <br />permission of the Board to advertise for bids for the demolition of said <br />.property.. Permission Granted. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT (REQUEST: HAROLD W. WEBER, INC.) <br />Comes now Verner Lane, Building Department Commissioner, and presents a Plan <br />prepared by Harold Weber, Inc., developer, requesting permission to erect <br />ornamental light posts at the intersection of Corby Street and Weber Square <br />and, further, requests that the City provide electrical current in lieu of <br />customary street lights. <br />After due consideration, it was the finding of the Board that the construction <br />of such posts upon public property and to provide the electrical current <br />for fixtures other than those normally supplied by the City would establish <br />an undesirable precedent. Request denied. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />Street Light Outage Report was accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />
