the B & 0 Wrecking Company be awarded both bids. <br />SUB -STANDARD DIVISION BUILDING DEPARTMENT (HEARINGS) <br />Comes now Mr. John Grabarz of the Sub=Standard Division of the Building Department <br />and requests that the hearing set for this date for Mr. Fair, owner of the property <br />located at 522 E. Keasey Street be continued for 30 days, inasmuch as Mr. Fair <br />has prospect of sale of this property. Request granted and case continued until <br />October 24, 1960. <br />With reference to the property owned by Mr. <br />Mitchell located at <br />2509 Longley, <br />the Board previously granted permission for <br />the Department to advertise for <br />bids to have structure demolished. Mr. Grabarz advises the Board that, inasmuch <br />as Mr. Mitchell has recently purchased this <br />property and may be <br />able to bring it <br />up to standard that the demolition order be <br />removed. The Board <br />grants request <br />and case is continued for 45 days or until <br />November 14, 1960 at <br />which time <br />structure must be brought up to standard or <br />be demolished. <br />With reference to the property at 1317 S. 31st St., owned by Mr. Elliot, Mr. <br />Grabarz requested a continuance of this case. The Board grants request and case <br />is continued to October 10, 1960 <br />With reference to the property located at 1001 S. Carroll Street, letters <br />requesting parties 1nvolvdd to show cause as to why this property has not been <br />demolished have been sent but replies have not yet been received. The Board <br />continues this case for two weeks or until October 10, 1960. <br />With reference to property located at 313 N. Scott Street, the owner has been <br />informed of repairs. necessary to bring property up to standard. Property is <br />now boarded up pending the fulfilment of these orders. Mr. Grabarz advises the <br />Board that there is the possibility of the sale of this property. The Board <br />continues this case until October 24, 1960. <br />With reference to,the hearing of Mr. N. Winston, concerning the property at <br />205'Studebaker Street, Mr. Grabarz reported to the Board that no work has been <br />done on this property to brong it up to standard according to an order allowing <br />60 days to do this wori, or until...September 26, 1960. MOnroe St. <br />The Board approves the installations. <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER REQUEST <br />Clem Hazinski, Traffic Engineer, requested permission to attend a Seminar for <br />Pedestrian Protection to be held in Springfield, Ill. on Ocrober 6 and 7t h, 1960. <br />The Chicago Motor Club has asked Mr. Hazinski to speak at this Seminar. Expenses <br />for the trip will be paid for by the Chicago Motor Club. Permission granted. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - REQUEST <br />Chief J. Charles Dutrieux was directed to attend the International Association of <br />Chiefs of Police meeting in Washington, D.C. beginning September 30, 1960 and <br />
