NOTICE TO BIDDERS
<br />Notice is hereby given that the City of South Bend, Indiana, Board of Public Works will receive sealed
<br />bids at the Office of the Board of Public Works, County -City Building Room 1316, 227 West Jefferson
<br />Blvd, South Bend, Indiana, 46601 until the hour of 9:30 a.m., Local Time, on April 11, 2017 for the
<br />following:
<br />Wastewater Treatment Plant Belt Filter Press #4 Rehabilitation
<br />Project No. 117-025
<br />Work includes furnishing all labor, services, materials, bonds, insurance and equipment to complete the
<br />work associated with the restoration of the existing Belt Filter Press #4 located at the South Bend
<br />Wastewater Treatment Plant located in South Bend, all more particularly described in specifications
<br />prepared by Donohue & Associates, Inc., 100 N. Main Street, Suite 510, South Bend, Indiana 46601,
<br />phone (574) 288-4580.
<br />The Contract Documents are on file and available for public inspection commencing on the first advertise
<br />date during regular working hours at the Department of Public Works (1316 County -City Building, South
<br />Bend, Indiana), and at MACIAF 3215-A Sugar Maple Court, South Bend, IN 46628. Additionally, the
<br />Contract Documents will be available that same day for inspection or purchase at American
<br />Reprographics Company ("ARC", located at 1303 Northside Blvd., South Bend, Indiana, 46615),
<br />http://www.e-arc.com, (574) 287-2944, toll free at (800) 783-7231. There will be a non-refundable charge
<br />for reproduction as set by ARC for every set of documents for all bidders.
<br />Bids must be on the City of South Bend Contractor's Bid for Public Work Form, accompanied by a
<br />Certified Check or Bid Bond in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid plus any
<br />alternates, in a sealed envelope noting the project name, number and your company's information on the
<br />front.
<br />Each bidder or contractor (hereinafter the contractor) must comply with "City of South Bend EEO
<br />Contracting Provision Diversity Utilization" included in the specifications as to each construction trade it
<br />intends to use on this construction contract and all other construction work (both federal and non-federal)
<br />in the St. Joseph County area during the performance of this contract or subcontract. The contractor
<br />commits itself to the goals for minority manpower and all other requirements, terms and conditions of
<br />these bid conditions by submitting a properly sealed bid. Woman and Minority -Owned Business
<br />Enterprises (W/MBE) are encouraged to respond to this notification.
<br />A Pre -Bid Conference will be held on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at 10:OOam Local Time at the City
<br />of South Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant Headworks Building #1 Classroom, 3113 Riverside Drive,
<br />South Bend, Indiana 46628. Any questions about bidding conditions must be addressed to the Owner in
<br />writing no later than Tuesday April 4, 2017 at 12:OOpm.
<br />The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept a full or partial award of the bid or bids
<br />which, in its judgment, will be to the best interests of the City of South Bend. If the Board elects to award
<br />the base bid plus an alternate(s), the Board will look at the totality of the cost when determining the
<br />lowest, responsive and responsible bid.
