Safety: Unit must conform to all Local, State, and Federal standards to include all <br />DOT required lighting and additional lighting as specified. Tail gate and <br />body to have safety prop rods, alarms and warning light, hydraulic safety <br />check valves to prevent sudden descent. Packer blade to have emergency <br />stop button. Back up alarm to be included along with camera. Any frame <br />modification must exceed the initial frame RBM and section modules. <br />Vehicle Weight <br />Distribution: It is the intent of the City of South Bend to operate this vehicle from time <br />to time on the highways and roads of the State of Michigan. Vendor to <br />submit a weight distribution chart for the unit bid indicating each axles <br />load with body full and compacted with normal dry refuse to 900 lbs per <br />cubic yard. <br />Miscellaneous: All pivot points, cylinder based trunnions, cylinder rod ends and body <br />hinge parts to be greasable from ground level. Body and hopper to be <br />cleaned of all dirt and grit, steel gritblasted, urethane primed and finish <br />with white IMRON 5000 or equal. Inner body cavity to be rust protected. <br />Vendor to supply one parts, service, and operator's manual. Up to 16 <br />hours of training to be included. <br />Warranty: One full year complete unit. Engine and drive train extended warranties <br />as specified. Hydraulic cylinders and pumps to be warranted for five (5) <br />full years. Body to be warranted for one (1) full year. Successful bidder <br />is responsible for all warranty repairs. Vendor to state nearest warranty <br />dealer. If travel outside the City of South Bend is required for warranty <br />repairs, transportation of the unit is the responsibility of the successful <br />bidder. Transportation must take place within the next normal working <br />day or the responsible party will be charged $100 per day late fee. <br />Performance <br />Evaluation: Each bidder should be prepared to provide the City with a unit for <br />evaluation within 10 days of bid opening. A performance evaluation will <br />be conducted by a team of City employees. Performance as determined by <br />the City will be used to decide if the unit bid is responsive to the needs of <br />the City of South Bend. The City of South Bend reserves the right to have <br />a representative from an outside agency attend the performance <br />evaluations. The results of these performance evaluations will be used to <br />determine if the unit bid meets the minimum performance standards of the <br />City of South Bend. The evaluation results are the property of the City of <br />South Bend and cannot be used by anyone other than City employees for <br />evaluation purposes. <br />Quantity: One (1) more or less. <br />
