The Certificate of Analysis shall certify that the GAC sample shipped to the site is virgin <br />carbon and in full compliance with the specifications stated herein. Failure to comply will <br />be considered non -responsive and the bid will be rejected. <br />m. Virgin GAC Samples: <br />a. Pre -bid samples: <br />i. Samples shall be submitted to the (Engineer/City) prior to the bid date. <br />One (1) sample shall be submitted for each activated carbon type to be <br />supplied. Samples shall be no less than 2 lb. and shall be accompanied <br />with a Certificate of Analysis and shall include the following parameters: <br />1. Iodine number, mg/g (ASTM D4607) <br />2. Moisture (as packed), wt% (ASTM D2867) <br />3. Effective size, mm (ASTM D2862) <br />4. Uniformity coefficient (ASTM D2862) <br />5. Abrasion number (AWWA B604 — latest edition) <br />6. Trace capacity number (TCN), mg/cc <br />7. Particle size distribution (US mesh size), wt% (ASTM D2862) <br />H.
