% <br />May 31, 1960 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Tuesday, May 31, 1960 <br />at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular rapme`ting <br />were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the various <br />suppliers. <br />Special Police Bonds for Charles Rinkus and Arnold A. Much were submitted and <br />approved. <br />Comes now Alex Andrzejewski, Fire Chief, who respectfu;ly recommends the following <br />promotions in the Fire Department: that Robert Loughlin be promoted to the rank <br />of Lieutenant to be effective June 1, 1960, and that Lieutenant Robert A. Brown <br />be promoted to the rank of Captain, effective June 1, 1960. After due considera- <br />tion and examination of the request, the Board approved the promotions as stated. <br />The Department of Civil Defense submitted an Activities Report for May,. 1960 <br />which was read and ordered placed on file. <br />Comes now Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of the Electrical Department with the <br />recommendation to install 4000 lumen street lights at the following locations: <br />1. Highland and Carlisle Streets <br />2.. Grant and Delaware Streets <br />3. At 901 E. Milton Street <br />The monthly report for the month of April was submitted by J. Charles Dutrieux, <br />Chief of Police and was examined and ordered placed on file. <br />Comes now John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Building Division.of the <br />Building Department with further reference to the condemnation order heretofore <br />issued to the owners of the structure located at 124 N. Adams Street. In accord- <br />ance with instructions of the Board, Mr. Grabarz reported that he had mailed two <br />registered letters, return receipt requested, to the owners and that said letters <br />had been returned unclaimed. The Board directs the Building Department to advertise <br />for bids to demolish the aforementioned structureslocated at 124 N. Adams Street. <br />With further reference to the condemnation order for a structure at 522 E. Keasey <br />Street, which matter was continued from the meeting of May 16, 19609 Mr. Fair appeared <br />before the Board as representative of this property. Mr. Fair asked for additional <br />time to ascertain when said repairs could be dompleted. The Board continued this <br />hearing until the next regular meeting on June 69 1960. <br />Applications for the Fire Department from Arthur Joseph Smigielski add Gerald <br />Louis Sosnoski were reviewed and ordered placed on file. <br />There being no sealed bids for the purchase for the Police Department of remote <br />control base station add remote control console for opgttion of above station, <br />the Board directed the Clerk of the Board to take -the proper action to purchase <br />this equipment. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned <br />at 10:45 A.M. <br />1 <br />
