1 <br />1 <br />May 18, 1%0 ; <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Wednesday, May 18, 1960 <br />at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. The following was conducted: <br />It has come to the attention of the Board of Safety that certain personnel undex -he. <br />jurisdiction of the Police and Fire Departments of the City of South Bend are on their <br />off time acting in the capacity of bar tenders. It is the finding of the Board at this. <br />time that hereafter no policemen or firemen''shall be permitted to engage in the occu- <br />pation of bartending. Therefore, it is requested that a notice be directed to the' <br />Chiefs of the Fire and Police Departments to be disseminated to all personnel and this <br />order and notice become a matter of knowledge to each. Letters regarding same -will be <br />forwarded to both Chiefs. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was,called ad- <br />journed at 10:20 A.M. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />Attest: AntTS Sabo, Clerk <br />May 23, 1960 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, May 23, 1960 <br />at 10:00 A,:M. All members were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting and <br />the special meeting of May 18, 1960 were read and approved. Vouchers were approved <br />and ordered paid to the various suppliers. <br />A Special Police Bond for Charles W. Rockwell is now approved. <br />An application for the Police Department from.Ro}hert Roland Werntz was examined <br />and ordered placed on file. <br />The Fire Chief requests permission to send Battalion Chief Lederer to attend a <br />one day conference on Rescue Training at Purdue University on Wednesday, May 25, <br />1960.
